Paroisse Cathédrale Notre Dame des Lourdes in Bobo-Dioulasso serves as the seat of the local diocese. Located between the railway station and the central market, it was inaugurated in 1961 after its foundation stone was laid in 1957 by Daniel Ouezzin Coulibaly. The cathedral once hosted the relics of Saint John Bosco in 2012. Closed for renovations in July 2020, it reopened in May 2021 with President Roch Marc Christian Kaboré in attendance. Originally emerging from the "Grande Mission" church under Bishop André Dupont, the cathedral is dedicated to Our Lady of Lourdes.
